Roblox Announces New Well-Being Partnerships and Resources

Strengthening Mental-Health and Well-Being Support in a Digital World

Roblox is strengthening our commitment to support users’ well-being and growth with a number of announcements that coincide with Mental Health Awareness Month. We’re sharing new resources, partnerships with leading mental health organizations and experts, and innovative well-being features.

Roblox is where many young people have their first online experience. They come to play games with friends and learn to navigate the digital world. That’s why we’re continually working to make Roblox a positive, healthy place for users of all ages. We’ve designed an environment where younger players can learn about healthy social interactions and digital citizenship through collaborative play—with protections and parental controls in place.

Partnerships: Working With Experts

We’re proud to announce new partnerships with leading experts and mental health organizations, sharing best practices and leveraging their expertise in child development, mental health, and well-being. We’re also partnering on new games designed to empower young people with new skills, strategies, and education around mental health.

With Koko, a leading mental health nonprofit, we’re sponsoring a game designed to help kids and teens develop resilience in the face of bullying. This interactive experience was developed in collaboration with game studio Playerthree and leading researchers at the Lab for Scalable Mental Health at Northwestern University. When final, the game will be playable on Roblox.

“Mental Health Awareness Month is about making support feel within reach,” said Rob Morris, Ph.D., CEO of Koko. “Roblox is doing exactly that, and we’re excited to help more young people build skills to bounce back from hard moments.”

We sponsored a Civility Challenge at this year’s LA Hacks, asking participants to create games focused on digital well-being and mental health. The winner, Mindful Egg, is a pet simulation game where small acts of self-care, such as journaling, stretching, and breathing exercises, help virtual pets thrive. Jasmine Ly and Michelle Phan, UCLA students and first-time Roblox creators, developed the winning game in under 36 hours.

“Mental health is like a muscle you have to constantly exercise to grow and keep it strong,” said Ly and Phan, the game’s creators. “Especially in the modern digital age, life can feel fast-paced and difficult to deal with. We hope Mindful Egg will instill mindful habits that people will practice in their everyday lives to reset their brains and make life feel more fulfilling.”

Since 2024, we’ve partnered with crisis support service ThroughLine to provide users with free, confidential support in their area. Throughout 2026, we’re expanding this partnership to make ThroughLine’s helpline locator service available in more areas of the platform to help people who may need immediate support.

“Across the platforms we work with, we’re seeing a meaningful shift beyond just moderating the bad to supporting those affected,” said Elliot Taylor, CEO of ThroughLine. “Roblox is a compelling example of what that can look like in practice, and we’re excited to expand our work together in 2026.”

Earlier this year, Roblox joined Thrive, a program that lets platforms securely and anonymously exchange signals like chat or text related to self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. By standardizing this data, Thrive helps partners detect potential risks faster—without sharing user information. Thrive allows us to partner with industry peers to stop harmful viral challenges and content before they impact the Roblox community.

“As an industry-wide effort to build collaborations and help prevent suicide and self-harm from spreading across platforms, Thrive is pleased to welcome Roblox as a partner,” said Dan Reidenberg, Psy.D., a suicide prevention and mental health expert, the director of Thrive, and the founder of Safe Online Standards. “With Roblox’s addition to Thrive, the partnership has expanded and will make it more likely we can scale the initiative in greater ways.”

Resources: Supporting Parents and Teens

We’ve also developed new resources to complement the tools already available on Roblox. We hope these resources help families with tips and best practices for staying healthy online.

With Reidenberg, we’ve created a new Gaming & Mental Health guide for teens and young players. The guide shares facts and information about how gaming affects the brain—the positive benefits as well as early signs that it might be time to take a break.

The members of our Teen Council have developed digital well-being tips to share with the Roblox community. Starting today, we’ll be showcasing these tips and our new youth well-being page on the Roblox Instagram account to help young users learn from their peers.

Features: Supporting Growth Through Play

Roblox provides tools to help families set healthy digital boundaries online. These include screen-time limits to monitor time spent on Roblox and a Do Not Disturb mode to silence notifications during sleep or study time. Teens can also use online status controls to decide who can see whether they’re online. We provide these features to prioritize well-being as a standard setting, not an afterthought.

We provide easy-to-use reporting tools and encourage users to report any concerning content or activity immediately. These tools capture the time-sensitive metadata, identifiers, and visual evidence critical for swift, thorough investigations.

Of course, no technology can replace the value of an open conversation, so we encourage parents to maintain an ongoing dialogue with their children about what they do and experience online. We provide guides, developed with third-party experts in child development to help families navigate these conversations.
